Easy ways to get advertisers on your website (LO3)



It is very easy to gain extra money by advertising ads and products on your websites. This could be done via public domains such as google AdSense. Or more privately by going direct to companies or product developers.
·       Promote an affiliate product on your site.
o   By associating your website with someone who already has advertising.
o   They allow you to make money by promoting someone else’s products
o   You earn commission each time someone buys one of the advertised products through your website.
o   This could be done by banners on your page with a link to the actual page.
o   Commission differs with each website.
·        Targeted advertising – google AdSense
o   Pay-per-click program = easier way to make money
o   The ads will be linked to what is on your website
o   Good if your website is heavily used, as people are more likely to see the ads
o   Free to use + google do all the work
·       Approach companies directly to ask if you can advertise for them
o   If you get a lot of views on your page, you could ask local businesses or websites linked in some way to your website
®    Seen as an implicit recommendation of their product
®    Potentially agree on more commission depending on how much their business is promoted by your website
o   Make sure that you seem professional as you are directly contacting a business
o   Have your websites stats ready to provide
o   Make sure the other company have a good reputation
·       Sign up for a blog-specific ad program
o   If you blog about a specific thing, link ads to what you blog
®    More likely to clip on ads as are useful to the audience.
o   Companies such as Google AdSense and Crisp Ads will created targeted as for you.
